It's no surprise that celebrities regularly inspire their fans when they come forward with stories of overcoming personal hardships. What may be surprising is that so, too, are their fellow celebrities.

Take E! News anchor and Fashion Police's go-to style arbiter Giuliana Rancic, who revealed on this week's sartorial show that none other than music superstar (and Fashion Police guest star) Kylie Minogue served as her inspiration when deciding to go public with her battle with breast cancer.

Minogue opened up about what led her to come forward with her battle back in 2005, when appearing on tonight's episode of Fashion Police.

"I was 36 years old, so it was kind of crazy, but obviously you want a silver lining from that gloom and doom, from that thunder cloud," she told Joan Rivers. "I've had lots of letters and people coming up to me in the street, basically saying, 'You've saved my life.' What can you say about that?"

"I know you've had that as well," Minogue added, turning to Giuliana—who promptly credited the Australian singer with forging the trail for her own decision-making process.

"I was diagnosed the same age as you, 36, last year," Rancic said. "When you get diagnosed, you don't know what to do…you Google. I went online and I read your story, and it gave me the strength to go public as well.

"Your story helped me and I thought, huh, my story could help someone else."

Indeed it has, as fan messages of thanks—as well as support—have flooded in since Rancic revealed her diagnosis this year.

"It's so real, I don't know how you can not tell the story," Minogue said. "I understand some people want to go through all that quietly, but for me it was not possible."

Which makes her story all the more inspiring. Now that's grace under pressure.
