Bondy: Super sneaky Giants just don't play favorites

During Tom Coughlin's tenure, the Giants have won two Super Bowls when no one expected them to.
This is probably a good time to remind Giant fans, and over-enthusiastic analysts everywhere, that the fortunes of pro football teams can change in the blink of a hurried third-down pass or an ill-timed firearms discharge. The Giants are not sure things for New Orleans, or even probable things.
If there is another Super Bowl in their near future, it will arrive in its own due time, and likely reveal itself as another February surprise rather than a charted event.
Boasters beware: The Giants generally don’t achieve Super Bowls in any linear fashion. They fare best when jumping out of the bushes.
It was only 10 months ago, after all, that the Jets were considered the better team around here. Hard to believe now, considering the divergent paths. But going into their Christmas Eve game last December, the Jets at 8-6 seemed likely headed for a wild card berth after two successive AFC championship appearances.
The Giants, meanwhile, were dead in the water at 7-7, having dropped five of their last six. Rex Ryan was still calling the Jets, “Kings of New York,” and a lot of us were taking him seriously.
Again, that was less than a year ago. Then the Giants beat the Jets, 29-14, and thae Dec. 24 game changed everything, altering paths and perceptions dramatically.
“Given everything that was at stake, and all the noise that has been coming out of Florham Park, yeah, it means a little more,” John Mara said then.
Even the Giant owner didn’t know how much it meant at the time. In Oct, 2012, the Giants are now considered a dynasty and the Jets are deemed a crass joke. Eli Manning can’t do anything wrong while the Jets have devolved into a dysfunctional carnival, with Tim Tebow performing as a sideshow act and Tony Sparano as his miserly keeper.
Here’s the thing, though: that sort of double reverse may yet happen again. The Jets can become good, the Giants lousy. Maybe not this weekend, or next weekend, but certainly by January. A football season, by nature, is a very small sample size impacted enormously by one or two events.
If this Giant season resembles any other, at least so far, it would be 2008, the ultimate cautionary tale. That team was coming off a magical Super Bowl title and jumped off to an 11-1 start. The Giants were the clear favorites to sweep everything.
Then Plaxico Burress shot himself in a nightclub, a couple of injuries weakened the defensive secondary, and before we knew it the Giants dropped three of their last four regular-season games and were dumped quickly from the playoffs by Philly. The next season, the Giants went 8-8 and Tom Coughlin’s job security was in question.
The Giants became, briefly, what the Jets are now. Turned out, they were just reloading for another ambush two years later, in 2011. The Jets might be doing the same thing, in their own clumsy, irrational manner. We have no idea.
All of this does not mean it is a bad thing the Giants are playing well at the moment. It is always better to win than to lose. Manning is rescuing games as only he and Tom Brady seem able. Coughlin is a coach who can ride a hot streak and a hot quarterback. Enjoy the journey, but please remember: Coughlin’s Giants have never made a Super Bowl run when they were expected to do so.
They prefer to catch people by surprise.
Right now, they’re not surprising anyone. They’re merely looking like the best team in football.
Unless they lose to the undefeated Falcons in December by the exact score of 38-35 – the way they did to the Patriots in 2008 and the Packers in 2011 – we really shouldn’t expect too much from them.
And that’s when they’ll be most dangerous.

Hurricane Sandy miracle: Mom gives birth during storm
Julia Alemany’s road to motherhood on Tuesday included an epidural by flashlight, an anxious escape down eight flights of stairs and a harrowing trip in an ambulance that was struck by a tree branch in the storm.
The 34 year old researcher from Greenpoint, Brooklyn had done her best to prepare for the birth of her second child.
She and her husband, Doron Markus, 41, were staying in an apartment near NYU ahead of her due date on Saturday but when her contractions began at 6 p.m Monday as Sandy bore down on the city, she could not have prepared for what would happen next.

A doctor at NYU’s eighth floor maternity ward initially said her contractions were too far apart and tried to send her home, but Alemany refused to budge.
“Are you kidding?” she recalled saying. “Do you see what’s going on outside?” The doctor agreed to admit her.
Then, around 9 p.m., the hospital went dark – and things got worse.
“Suddenly, I hear a lot of commotion outside and the word ‘Fire!’” Alemany told The Daily News Tuesday. “There was smoke at the end of the corridor, everyone was running.”
But contractions were ripping through her body. “I said ‘I can’t run!’”
The fire turned out to be a false alarm, but the chaos had only just begun.
Hospital administrators discovered that their backup generators were submerged in water in the basement and the building was no longer safe.
She was told she’d have to evacuate, but begged for pain relief until doctors agreed to give her a low-dose epidural.
In her pitch-black hospital room, an anesthesiologist administered the drug into her spine by flashlight and the glow of a couple of cell phones as labor pains wracked her body.
She was still in pain as three burly security guards put her on a sled and hustled her down eight flights of stairs, flashlights leading their way. Some had headlamps, making them look more like coalminers than medical staff, but the staff were kind and encouraging, she said.
“They must have asked me if I was OK 20 million times,” Alemany said.
Alemany was among 215 patients who were evacuated. Ten were expectant moms who were hauled from NYU but she was one of only two who were in active labor and the contractions were becoming more than she could bear, she said.
As she and her husband were loaded into an ambulance with an NYU nurse, the epidural was starting to wear off. Then she heard a question from her driver that was the last thing she wanted to hear:
“Do you know how to get to Mt. Sinai?”
The driver of the ambulance was a FEMA employee from California who had just arrived to help during the storm.
The nurse was able to instruct the driver, but the ambulance still had to navigate storm-ravaged streets as the rain and wind pounded the city. Maddeningly, cops diverted the ambulance several times as it made its way north. A tree branch even fell on the vehicle.
“I hope you don’t have this baby in the ambulance!” Alemany recalled the nurse telling her.
At midnight, Alemany, originally from Barcelona, arrived at the hospital. Her obstetrician, Dr. John Wirth, was able to wrangle a taxi and race to Mt. Sinai in time. Forty minutes after she arrived at Mt. Sinai, little Micah Alemany-Markus finally appeared at 12:48 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces.
“I was just so happy when I saw him, and he was safe,” said Alemany of her day-old son. “There were a couple of times I was so afraid.”
As she held her tiny boy in her Mt. Sinai hospital bed Tuesday afternoon, she seemed relieved.
“I never thought his birth would be anything like this,” she said, beaming. "It was the most intense experience of my life."
All of the 215 patients evacuated safely with 58 landing at Mt. Sinai. The rest were taken to other hospitals.
"We drill and prepare for these emergencies, and when it came, it paid off,” said Dr. Michael Bordman, chief of obstetrics at Mount Sinai said. “We were ready.”
Alemany’s husband, an assistant principal in Edgemont school district, praised the NYU staff who kept their cool under extreme circumstances.
“In spite of chaos they were really able to make us feel calm,” Markus said. “Their doctors were incredible.”
President Obama agreed, calling out the NYU nurses and other selfless heroes during the storm as “the brightest in America.”
“That kind of spirit of resilience and strength, but most importantly looking out for one another — that's why we always bounce back form these kinds of disasters," Obama said.
Indeed, the challenges continue to mount.
While young Micah was being welcomed into the world, years of scientific research at NYU Hospital's Smilow building were lost to the ages.
When power was lost, many precious reagents -- special enzymes, antibodies, DNA strands -- generated by scientists and stored in special hospital equipment were likely destroyed, a researcher told
the Daily News.
Even more alarming, thousands of mice that are used by scientists for cancer research and other experiments, drowned during a flood. A source told the News that many of these mice are genetically modified for certain research and took years to produce. It will likely set back several scientists' work by years, the source said.
"This does not equate to a loss of life, but it is extremely disheartening to see years of research go down the drain," the source said.

Hurricane Sandy pounded down on NYC leaving nothing untouched in it's path and no one was exempt from the horrific storm including Donnie Wahlberg.
The Blue Bloods actor has been documenting his challenges with Mother Nature on Twitter and unfortunately the brother of Mark Wahlberg lost his apt to flood damage, but remained upbeat about the situation.

He wrote, "Safe & Sound on Higher Ground! Don't worry about me. Material things are meaningless. Check in with those you know in the storm! Stay safe!!"
Before the storm wreaked havoc on his flat the actor and a friend decided to ride out the storm living on bacon and red bull, but that changed when the situation worsened.
He Tweeted , "Me & @worldofjohnny passing hurricane time by catching up on Bacon Of The Month Club Bacon! #sixdegreesofhurricanebacon pic.twitter.com/GYYoClZt."
He then expressed his disappointed for not being able to continue to eat his fav food during the hurricane and wrote, "So much for bacon. My entire building is under a foot of water. Awesome neighbors all banding together to help each other! Stay safe!"

In addition to posting pics, Donnie added videos to his Twitter page showing fans the amount of water that swept into his place.
There's no word on where he's staying now, but his last Tweet was encouraging for those going through a tough time.
"In the worst of times... Somehow... Some way... Make the best of times! Life's too short to be down! Shake it off and pick yourself back up!"

Liberty Ross And Rupert Sanders Turn Down Dr. Phil Interview As They Try To Rebuild Marriage

Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders have an insurmountable hill to climb as they try to patch up their marriage following the director's affair with Kristen Stewart.
The couple have been seeing a therapist and TV relationship expert Dr. Phil wanted in on the action and invited them to air their dirty laundry on his show, RadarOnline reports.

But Liberty, 34, and Rupert, 41, have nixed the idea and want to fix their problems more privately.
"When Dr. Phil's producers were putting together a list of potential guests for the new season, Liberty Ross and Rupert Sanders were both mentioned," a source told the site.
"They thought an exclusive interview with either one of them would be a ratings winner because the cheating scandal was the hottest showbiz story of the summer.
"But despite requests to both parties their interview request was denied. Reps for Rupert and Liberty said the two wanted to concentrate on counseling in an effort to make their marriage work.

"It was just something they didn't want to do at such a difficult time."
Liberty said in a confessional segment at Alexander Wang's runway show recently that she has "good people" and "two amazing children" in her life.
She added that she was "happy" and "lucky" but believes "we are all given lessons at certain times in our lives."

"Sometimes, when things seem really bad, you have to be able to see the good and learn from it and just move forward as graciously as possible," Liberty added.

Less than a week after we learned that Taylor and Conor Kennedy ended their Cap Cod, Camelot romance, some cozy looking photos of her and the British songwriter popped up on Instagram, which led some to wonder if Ed is her next boyfriend in training.
The two will certainly get to know each more in the coming months as they're slated to tour together starting on March 13 in Omaha, Nebraska. The tour will span 45 cities and the energetic performers will churn out 58 shows.
He got a fresh RED tattoo on his forearm, in definite homage to the album, and used the exact same font as the album art. A pretty big move, even considering they penned the track, "Everything is Changing" together, a song about “falling in love."

Which is a subject Taylor, obviously, knows quite a bit about.

"It has to be an us-against-the-world mentality. You have to make it work by prioritizing it, and by falling in love really fast, without thinking too hard. If I think too hard about a relationship I'll talk myself out of it. ...I have rules for a lot of areas of my life. Love is not going to be one of them."

Tom Cruise Working On Concepts For 'Mission: Impossible 5'
'I'll make as many as people want to see,' actor tells Total Film magazine of film franchise.

No mission is impossible for secret agent Ethan Hunt, nor it seems for his alter ego Tom Cruise, who famously scaled the world's largest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, for the most recent "Mission Impossible" installment, "Ghost Protocol." But can the actor pull off perhaps an even grander feat: keeping his espionage series fresh while continuing to push the action-movie envelope? Audiences will be able to judge for themselves, as Cruise said he'll continue to make "Mission: Impossible" films as long as audiences clamor to see them.
"I started 'Mission: Impossible' hoping I could make many of them. It's a character that I can grow with," Cruise told Total Film magazine. "At that time it was the most expensive film in the history of Paramount Pictures, and the first film I was producing."
It's an investment that's paid off for the studio: the four "Mission: Impossible" films have grossed approximately $740 million to date, domestically. Audiences clearly continue to be enthralled by the inner-workings of the IMF.
"It's been pretty exciting. I'll make a bunch of those," Cruise continued. "I'll make as many as people want to see...because they're very challenging, and so much fun to make."
And in his role as star and producer, Cruise never stops thinking about where to take the franchise next, even while globe-trotting to film and promote other projects, like the upcoming "Jack Reacher."
"We're already working on different images. Talking conceptually," he said of "Mission: Impossible 5." "I love travelling around promoting different movies because I'm always looking at different places, and I always walk around to see the city. I look at architecture, subways... coming up with different sequences."
No release date has been set for "Mission: Impossible 5."

Lady Gaga Tells New York 'I Love You' Amid Hurricane Sandy
As storm floods parts of the Big Apple, the pop star shares her well-wishes for family, friends and fans in the city.

Hurricane Sandy left a devastating wake as it barreled its way across the Northeast Tuesday morning (October 30). So far, at least 16 people have died in and more than 7 million homes were left without power. New York City, perhaps one of the hardest-hit areas, has been completely shut down as parts of the city were flooded and public transit was down.
New York City native Lady Gaga, who was not home when Sandy hit, took to an otherwise empty Twitterverse to send her well-wishes to her family, friends and fans in New York City.
"i know its gonna be ok, but that water flooding downtown while my friends are sitting in the dark is making me sad. i love you new york," she tweeted. New York's Battery Park, along with areas of the Lower East Side and Alphabet City, began flooding on Monday. Pictures on Twitter showed cars floating in the street at Eighth Street and Avenue C.
Gaga is currently making rounds on her Born This Way Ball. Her next show is scheduled for Tuesday night in San Juan, Puerto Rico. And even though she escaped the wrath of Sandy, she made it clear that there is no place she'd rather be but home. "#SandyNeedsToSitDown miss you mom, dad, natali and all my friends. :( i wanna be there in the rain with you," Gaga shared.
While Gaga did express concern for New York (and added that she's "never watching Grease again"), she made it clear that if any city can make it through Sandy, it's her hometown.
"its such a testament to New York that none of my friends or family members have left," Gaga tweeted. "not even my blind grandma in NJ."

Chantelle Houghton: 'Alex Reid turned my house into a SEX DUNGEON!'

Chantelle Houghton has sensationally claimed that ex-fiancé Alex Reid turned their house into a sex dungeon while she was eight months pregnant with their first child.
After months of keeping quiet about the reasons for her split from Alex, Chantelle revealed all on Tuesday morning in a series of explosive tweets.
In addition to the claims about 37-year-old Alex's secret sex place, Chantelle, 29, also alleged that cross-dressing Alex arranged to meet a man for sex while dressed as his alter-ego Roxanne.

I've been in f***ing bad place for weeks now but reason for that is this: I found text messages on Alex's phone when she was 6 weeks old, it was to a man and he was arranging to meet up with him as Roxanne for sex
'It wasn't the first time either. So yh I'm in hell right now but who wouldn't be.'
"Oh and yes when I was 8 months pregnant Alex turned my house into a sex dungeon and I slept on my flat floor for days...Cos I couldn't come home. (sic)"
Chantelle continued by claiming that Alex had group sex with prostitutes during their relationship.
She said: 'And NO I didn't know Alex cross dressed cos he told me it was a publicity stunt, I found out when I was pregnant. not forgetting the hookers he was texting that he'd had orgies with.

Chantelle continued with her Twitter rant to claim that not only is she having to cope in the wake of Alex's sexual revelations, but she is also having to face the fact that Alex is allegedly trying to get hold of her money.
Referring to Alex's ex-wife Katie Price, Chantelle tweeted: 'Katie price was right cos now Alex wants half of my Money and Dolly's money too that we put in a trust fund for her from first ok mag shoot.

'And for the record I've been asking Alex to send me a schedule of when he'd like to see dolly but he won't commit. He can come and see her cos I couldn't come home.
'Now I know what Katie price went through and she got the blame back then! I will walk to the end of the earth for my daughter and he will not be getting my money nor will he get Dolly's money (sic).'
Chantelle's explosive claims on Twitter come after she confessed during an interview on an Irish talk show over the weekend that their relationship came to a dramatic end because of another man.
The 'other' man the model refers to is so far unknown, but it comes amid claims Reid allegedly tried to kiss his former agent, Richard Curson, 37, and sent him a string of supposedly explicit text messages.
She also admitted that the cage fighter's love of dressing up as his alter-ego Roxanne was another driving force behind her decision to go it alone.
In the past Chantelle has spoken publicly about the arguments she and Alex had over flirty texts she had found on his phone to Curson.
Reid even owned up to the lewd nature of the messages: 'We did argue about Richard. I've made naughty jokes of an adult nature, which were private. It has been purposefully misconstrued.'
There is no suggestion from Chantelle that the other man she refers to is Curson.
Chantelle said: 'I didn't break up with Alex lightly. Ultimately a man ended our relationship and that's all I'm prepared to say on the matter.'
Discovering that Alex's cross-dressing was not just a publicity stunt was also very hard for Chantelle.
She told The Saturday Night show that she 'would not have been in a relationship if she knew that.'
The cage fighter's love for dressing up in outlandish women's clothing has been an activity carried out by Alex since the days prior to his relationship with Katie Price.
Now since the latest split from the father of her first child - four-month old Dolly - Chantelle has been noticeably suffering.

Being a single mother was not at all what the reality star - who found fame as the only non-celebrity on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 - expected to become when she and Alex first announced their pregnancy,
Speaking on the show she said: 'I never appreciated what it was like to be a single mum before, and I'm in a very fortunate situation that I don't have money worries.'
'But it's hard going through a break-up and being mum as well - it's really tough.'
MailOnline contacted Reid for a comment but his publicist said he was unwilling to give a response.
She added: 'Hopefully at the right point he will address the comments Chantelle has made.'

Does One Direction have something for comic books? This weekend Liam Payne dressed up as Batman for Halloween festivities, after bandmate Zayn Malik rolled up his sleeves to flaunt his comic-inspired ink.
Zayn previously gave us a glimpse of the tattoo — a thick, red splat with a yellow-lettered "ZAP!" — at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Although he could have gone with a "Bam!" or a "Pow!," the common three-letter words that packed punches in the old DC Comics, he stuck with the "Z"-led "Zap!"
The Batman-styled tattoo might be a new direction for Zayn, who just released new single "Little Things" with the guys. The band's go-to tattoo artist told MTV News that Zayn's tats have been mostly music-oriented so far.

According to E! News, she revealed a rock star vacation in Mexico and then dished about her love life!

As for the inside scoop, Taylor said, "We are out of control, as usual, and we are obviously very dramatic and very in love with one another. These women are my best friends and my worst enemies."

Early conclusion of World Series allows Fox to bump up the reality singing competition.

Just as the Major League Baseball playoff schedule disrupted "The X Factor" earlier this season, its unexpectedly fast conclusion on Sunday has once again affected the singing competition — but this time, in a more positive fashion.
According to the show's Facebook page, the early finish of the World Series — with the San Francisco Giants sweeping the Detroit Tigers in four games — has led Fox executives to move up the start of the highly anticipated live shows from Thursday to Wednesday, with "X Factor" set to resume its previously scheduled Wednesday/Thursday two-day airing pattern.
In addition to the start of the live performances, Wednesday's show will also feature the debut of new hosts Khloé Kardashian and Mario Lopez. Kardashian and Lopez will take the stage to introduce the top 16 acts, divided into four categories — Teens, Over 25's, Groups and Young Adults — who will perform for Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and L.A. Reid. Thursday's show will feature the announcement of the still-to-be-determined number of top finalists, whittled from the top 16, who will return the following week to face America's vote.
Fox will air a repeat of the end of the Judges' Homes round and the Top 16 announcement Monday night (October 29) at 8 p.m. Later in the evening, look out for Cowell and Spears to tout their groups via an appearance on "The Tonight Show."

Lil Wayne -- Recovering at His Mommy's House

Lil Wayne is no different than anyone else when they're not feeling well ... they just want to home with their mommy ... and TMZ has learned that's exactly where Weezy is recouping.As TMZ first reported, Wayne suffered two seizures this week and was hospitalized in Texas after the first one and in Louisiana after the second.
Our sources say Wayne's doctors have advised him not to fly -- so he rescheduled his flight out of LA yesterday and then cancelled it again today.
According to our sources, Wayne has not decided when he will leave town ... so he's staying with friends and family at his mom's house where we're told he's been in good spirits.
As TMZ first reported, the seizures forced Wayne to miss a court date in Los Angeles on Friday in his case against Quincy Jones III. Wayne is suing over a documentary QIII made about Weezy.
Wayne's lawyers are supposed to update the judge on his status on Monday, and it's looking more and more like he will be unable to testify anytime soon.

While The Voice coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will be leaving the hit show to focus on their music careers, Adam Levine is staying on the singing competition as a judge and recently chatted about his relationship with Christina, Blake Shelton, and what it's like to have Usher and Shakira join him on the NBC show.

Christina often gets criticized for her weight or hair or clothing choices. Do you feel like the big brother that has to protect her when people are saying those kinds of things?
Well, people shouldn’t say those kinds of things because f*** you. It’s like come on guys. Grow up. The one thing about the culture right now, the celebrity culture particularly – that’s so ugly is that people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people, whether it’s Christina or whether or it’s me. We all grow through it and obviously she gets a lot of it, which pisses me off, and of course I have her back and of course I defend her. I think that it’s a really, really ugly part of our culture and I think that we – other countries do it too. England does it. They’re probably the worst, but it’s not nice to just kind of have your bread and butter be trashing other people. Everyone’s so obsessed with trying to end bullying and ‘It gets better’ and this whole thing and on one hand they’re saying that and then they’re doing things like that. That’s bullying. Sure, we may be confident, successful people that could take a punch, but it’s just – it’s not cool. I’ve never liked it. I think it’s horrible and I will totally defend when people say things like that because it’s none of anybody’s business what anybody does unless they want to get into it and come out and talk about it which I clearly have no problem doing.

Obviously we’re sad to see Christina and Cee Lo take the next season off, but we have to ask – what was it like working with Usher and Shakira, especially with her expecting?
I know! I didn’t know she was six months pregnant, too. It’s crazy. It’s bittersweet. No one can replace Christina and Cee Lo. It’s not really possible. They’re two extraordinarily unique people and also very good friends of mine at this point. It was really sad actually. I wasn’t happy about it at first, but then when I found out that Usher and Shakira would be replacing them temporarily I was optimistic just because they’re amazing artist in their own right. It was nice to see that the caliber of artists was kept the same – that even though they’re very different. I knew it was going to be wonderful to work with them. Hopefully… You can never account for what the chemistry’s going to be and the chemistry is there which is nice. It’s a different chemistry, but that was a transition and it was fine. I think it went very smoothly and we’re getting along great and like I said it is different, but trust me. And as far as Shakira is concerned she’s not afraid to knock me out.

You are obviously close friends with the original coaches. How did you and Blake initiate Usher and Shakira into The Voice family? Any pranks?
Hazing, really? No, not really. You know it's funny, Blake and I had all these designs to make them feel very uncomfortable, but we saw how genuinely excited and slightly nervous they were. I know Usher doesn’t really get nervous, but Shakira – not nervous, but just in a strange place for the first time. What happened was that instinct kicked in and we got extremely nice and we didn’t do anything terrible. We didn’t have it in our hearts to haze them too much. We welcomed them, made them feel really comfortable because that’s what they deserve.
Can you talk about your chemistry with Blake on the show? Are you still friends with him and Miranda?
No, I hate that son of a b****. [Laughs] It’s funny how a friendship that’s forged in this way is publicized and marketed and things like that. It’s kind of hysterical, actually, because at the root of it we’re friends. He’s a dear, dear friend of mine. I met him at NBC, the first meeting we had with The Voice people, [and] we just got along instantly. Same thing with Cee Lo. Obviously, Christina and I had our little silly little squabbles that were nothing, but now we’re at that level as well. Blake and I from the first second were just friends and continued to be and will be for life. He’s one of my best friends. ‘I can’t quit you.’
It seems like you and Christina are getting a lot better this season so is that true off-screen and will you miss her next season?
I will. You know, I will miss her. The feudy things that everyone discusses, [that] the press love to latch onto – did I say feudy? Strike that. The fights that everyone thought we were having were fictional. We never hated each other. We never were having some sort of secret battles that everyone thought we were having. There was silly bickering things that was like brother and sister would do. It was not nearly what everyone thought, however those are a thing of the past now. You get to a certain point where you realize that it’s so much easier just to be, to keep the people, especially the coaches, to stay close and to get each other’s backs and we came to that conclusion relatively quickly, but we were always just messing around. It was never serious. We’re all good, Christina and I.

Exclusive: Turk Back To Work After Nine Years In Prison
In first post-prison on-camera interview, founding Hot Boys member tells MTV News that Lil Wayne's success is 'not a surprise.'

It's only been two weeks since Turk was released from Forrest City Prison in Arkansas, and the founding member of the Hot Boys is already putting in work with members of his former Cash Money Records crew.
"It's in the air right now that we working," Turk told MTV News in New Orleans. "Mack Maine just sent me a song to get on with him and Baby, you know what I'm saying? So we 'bout to get it in. Then I'mma send them something, so they can get on something for me."
The rapper, born Tab Virgil Jr., served eight years, eight months and 16 days of his 14-year sentence due to a plea deal in his second-degree murder case. But even while the Young & Thuggin' MC was serving time, Turk heard about how thoroughly his friend, multiplatinum rapper Lil Wayne, changed the rap game as a solo artist with his Billboard-charting Carter albums and as CEO of YMCMB, featuring flagship artists Drake and Nicki Minaj.
"To see Lil Wayne, Baby, the whole Cash Money doin' they thing, it's not a surprise to me, because I know how Cash Money rock," Turk told MTV News. "They get it in, you know what I'm saying? That's what we all come from. We come from that. We come from doing a whole album in a week. Mannie Fresh get in the studio, we all get in the studio ... 'What you got? Let me hear something.' Then bam! He put the beat, we put the rap and there it go. So when I was hearing Lil Wayne was doing all these mixtapes, doing all these features, people in jail and people on the phone when I'm callin' home be like, 'Yo, man, your dog doin' this and this and that,' it wasn't no surprise to me. I don't know why it was a surprise to the world. But I always knew that Wayne was gonna be how he is, 'cause he was focused."
Now that he's returned to the familiar confines of NOLA and successfully shaken his drug habits and cleared his head of negativity, Turk is more focused now too.
"I believe that everything happened in God's timing," Turk told MTV News. "I been gone for eight years, eight months, 16 days, and I express that because it's a miracle for a person to go through almost a decade and be in his right frame of mind and not be institutionalized, not gone crazy like people be thinking. I'm sitting here on MTV News and giving it to 'em like I'm giving it to 'em. To be able to think like a man and just get back into what he came from. And my situation, as far as drugs heroin, cocaine at an early age, that took my focus away. So for me to be clear-minded now and thinking the way I think, I'm 'bout to do the same thing that Lil Wayne and Baby and Cash Money doing."
It's not official that Turk will be rejoining the Cash Money Records family again, but he is currently in the studio working on new music and an autobiography tentatively titled The AutoThugography of Turk. Turk was involved in a 2004 shooting of a Tennessee police officer and convicted in 2005 on various federal charges.

She's back! Miley Cyrus is ready to rock the lives of the characters on "Two and a Half Men" once again when she returns for her second appearance on the show on November 8.
In a still teased on EW's website, the platinum blond actress/singer, who plays Missi, is spotted alongside the show's two and a half men, Angus T. Jones, Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher. She'll be back to meet up with Jones' character, Jake, whom she sparked a little romance with during her last appearance earlier this month. And, if her last episode's ratings say anything (she raised them 14 percent to nab 13.6 million viewers during the October 17 episode), it's that people will be welcoming her back with open arms.

"I've been wanting to work with Ashton forever and I couldn't really take time away to do a movie from my record right now. So, we wanted to work together, then we thought 'Two and a Half Men' would be the quick and easy way to do it. It turned out to be something that I loved so much I came back for a second episode," she said earlier this month about her part on the show, before opening up a bit about her character, Missi, who is the daughter of one of Walden's (Kutcher) old pals.
"I think it's fun for the show, because what we thought was fun about my character is everyone that came on, even when Charlie was there, it was, 'Who's going to sleep with Charlie?' or, 'Who's going to sleep with Ashton?' And that's so not my character," she said. "My character is just so in your face and blunt and really kind of puts Ashton back in his place. It's really fun and they've never really had a girl character come on like that."
