Nick Jonas is wearing his heart on his sleeve on the brand-new Jonas Brothers track "Wedding Bells," which the JoBros performed for the first time Thursday night during their big reunion show at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

Taking a closer look at the lyrics, MTV News can't help but wonder if the song is about Nick's ex-girlfriend, Miley Cyrus, getting engaged to "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth earlier this year. Nick's introduction of the song had us even more curious.

"We're in the process of recording a new album, which is both good and bad," Nick confessed, adding that the bad means he had to "dive into subjects that make us uncomfortable and write about them. ... You have to write a song and apologize for it later. I don't think I've ever written a song that makes me as uncomfortable as this song does. Some things happened in the last year that affected me in that moment. ... This song is called 'Wedding Bells.' "

While we might never truly know what was going on in Nick's head when he wrote the song, the brothers did tell MTV News that their next album gets much more personal than ever before. Until we hear the rest of the new music, let's break down some of the Miley-related clues on "Wedding Bells" to get to the bottom of this matrimonial mystery:

Clue #1
As the song opens, Nick shares a conversation he had with the mystery girl. "She says, 'Can you keep a secret?/ A ceremony's set for June/ I know it's a rush, but I just love him so much/ I hope that you can meet him soon.' " Sure, Miley and Liam didn't get married in June, but that is when the couple announced their engagement, making the "ceremony" reference a fitting stand-in for engagement. (Or perhaps the wedding is set for June 2013 — get ready, paparazzi helicopters!)

Clue #2
Niley (as they were dubbed) had a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship. They got back together one last time in 2009, right before she met Hemsworth on the set of "The Last Song" that summer. So those make-ups and breakups might be what Jonas is referencing on the chorus when he sings a plea for one final reconciliation. "I don't want to love, if it's not you/ I don't want to hear the wedding bells bloom/ Maybe we can try one last time/ But I don't want to hear the wedding bells chime."

Clue #3
The biggest smoking gun in this tune is when Nick croons, "If you recall our anniversary falls/ Eleven nights into June." Any Niley fan should know that happens to be the date the former couple met for the first time, as documented in Cyrus' autobiography"Miles to Go." In the book, Miley writes, "I remember the exact date, June 11, 2006. It was the day I met my first love. Let's call him Prince Charming. I don't want to use his name, because this isn't about who he is or what I meant to him. It's about how I felt and what our relationship meant to me."
