He's had a hard time finding love after he broke up with his first serious girlfriend Lydia Bright.
But it looked like things were on the up for James 'Arg' Argent after his mate Joey Essex set him up on a blind date with the lovely Yasmin.
However in Sunday's episode of The Only Way Is Essex the 25-year-old ended up doing a runner after his second date with her took a serious turn after she introduced him to her family.
Awkward: In Sunday night's episode of TOWIE James 'Arg' Argent was introduced to his blind date Yasmin's parent after she invited him over to her house for their second meeting
Excited: Arg managed to find enough courage to call Yasmin and ask her for another date
Arg braved a potentially embarrassing situation and gave Yasmin a call to ask her on another date.
Successfully managing to do so, she invited him to come over to his house that same evening, and excited to see her again, Arg made sure to look his best in a purple jumper with a white shirt bow tie and trousers.
But hoping for a night in alone with the dark-haired beauty, he found himself being introduced to her mother, father and brother.
Not quite what he had in mind: The 25-year-old arrived at her house and was greeted by her whole family
Getting cosy: Yasmin made Arg sit in between her mother and father as she sat with her brother
'What are your intentions with my daughter?': Yasmin's father seemed to think things between her and Arg were serious and questions his motives
To make things even more awkward, Arg then had to sit in between her parents, and wasting no time to find out the score, her father asked him: 'What are your intentions with my daughter?'
Shocked and a little confused, Arg questioned what he meant, and Yasmin interjected: 'This is our second date Dad!'
Trying to make sense of it, the wedding singer added: 'We've got similar interests and I plan to treat your daughter like a lady.'
But uncomfortable with the whole situation, James lied that Joey had sent him a text message and needed to be excused, and as they excused him, he made a swift exit and legged it down the road.
Believing he had actually gone to take a phone call, Yasmin's mother said: 'He's nice but he's not your type.'
Clearing things up: The dark-haired beauty had to explain that it was only their second date
Making his swift escape... James lied that he needed to call Joey Essex and ran away
In tonight's episode, James 'Diags' Bennewith took it upon himself to tell Arg's former girlfriend Gemma Collins, while in Faces nightclub, that he had recently confessed that he still loved her.
Bringing a smile to her face, Diags said: 'He told me "I still have feelings for Gemma like I like her and I still love her.'
Wanting to know more the 31-year-old asked: 'Tell me word for word what he said?', and then confidently added: 'I know he still likes me'.
Telling Arg's secrets: James 'Diags' Bennewith told Argent's ex-girlfriend Gemma that he still loved her
Perfect timing: Arg joined the pair as they sat down in Faces nightclub discussing his feelings for Gemma
It was at this point that Arg then joined them on the sofa, prompting Diags to leave them to talk and Gemma wanting to know the truth.
Failing to keep his composure after Gemma revealed what she had just been told, Arg laughed: 'I don't know why he said that. But I could easily go home with you especially because I've not pulled.'
Unsure how to take what Arg was saying seriously, Gemma admitted that she missed him and offered to drive him home.
'I do really miss you but it looks like you're going home alone because it's not Christmas yet.'
Giving things another go? Gemma offered to drive Arg home in the hopes to learn the truth
Not giving into her bluff, Arg said: 'You won't take me home', and accepted her offer.
Still baffled about what she learned, the following day she told Bobby-Cole Norris, as she followed him to a botox appointment, all what happened after they left the club.
The car sales assistant said: 'I was in Faces last night, he [Arg] gets in my car and tells me he didn't sleep with anyone in Ibiza. I don't know what to think.'
Confused: Collins confided in Bobby Cole-Norris about the situation with Argent
Getting rid of a few wrinkles: Bobby relaxed as he got botox injections in his forehead
While Gemma pondered over what was really going on between her and Arg, Sam Faiers and her boyfriend Joey opened up about their recent relationship woes following their decision to move in together.
Talking to her sister Billie about an argument they had, she said: 'We argue over everything. Anytime I go out and get drunk he's like "look at you, you're too drunk" and it's not fair.
Not backing down, she added: 'I always apologise but this time I'm not doing it.'
Heading for splitsville? Sam Faiers opened up about her relationship woes to her sister Billie
Doing the same: Sam's boyfriend Joey Essex offloaded on Kirk Norcross about their recent argument
Random: Kirk and Joey enjoyed a day trip to a spa where they bumped into Lucy Mecklenburgh and Lydia Bright
Confiding in his BFF Kirk Norcross, Joey tried to talk confessed: 'We always argue about silly things. When we argue we normally make up, but this time we're being stubborn.
'When we go out and she has a drink she gets really nasty and I don't like it.'
But putting all that to one side, Joey and Kirk took a day out of their schedules and visited a spa.
And to their surprise they ended up sharing a hot tub with Lucy Mecklenburgh and Lydia Bright.
Questioned about her relationship with former fiancé Mario Falcone, Lucy simply said: 'I'm happy but we're not engaged anymore and I told him he's on his last chance now.'
Not quite grasping the conception, Joey asked: 'How can you get unengaged? Isn't that like breaking up?'
Nothing to smile about: Lydia sent her beau Tom Kilbey, who happened to be with Lucy's former fiancé Mario Falcone, a picture of Lucy and Kirk in the jacuzzi
Unimpressed: Both boyfriends didn't look happy about the snap Lydia sent
Another argument: Mario called Lucy up straight away to question her
Not over the fact that the boys had interrupted their spa date, Lydia took a picture of Lucy and Kirk on her phone and then sent a text to her boyfriend Tom Kilbey who just happened to be with Mario.
And the photo didn't bare well with either boys and Mario was quick to give a call Lucy to ask what was going on.
He ranted: 'What the f*** are you doing in a hot tub with Kirk and Joey?'
Not allowing things to be turned on her, Lucy pipped up and said: 'Don't you dare!'
Without solid ground to stand on, he then hung up while holding her engagement ring, which he referred to as 'the devil's diamond' in his hand.
Happier times: Earlier in the episode Mario apologised to Lydia for calling her a p***k during last Wednesday's episode and allowed her to beat him up whilst in a sumo suit
