Sheek Louch reveals to MTV News that Lil Wayne tried unsuccessfully to sign the group to Young Money.

The LOX must have made some impact on hip-hop, because even though the Yonkers, New York, trio hasn't released an official group album in 12 years, their upcoming third LP is still among rap's highly anticipated. There's still no word on when Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek will drop their We Are the Streets follow-up, but Louch has some big news surrounding the long player.
"The last meeting I had was with Swizz and Khaled and they're executive producing this new LOX album," Sheek revealed to MTV News on Tuesday after he and Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah played their collaborative Wu-Block album for us exclusively.
With DJ Khaled and Swizz Beatz at the helm, it is still unclear which label (or labels) will put out the album, but according to Sheek, artists and execs are lining up to make offers. "Lil Wayne tried to sign us, Puff tried to re-sign us and paint that picture over, we done been in mother---ers' living rooms and talkin' business," he said. "The meeting we just had with Swizz and Khaled about executive producing this project was the one that grabbed us and we're gonna give y'all some real, real big records."
Working with connected record men like Khaled and Swizz has its benefits, and it's already starting to pay off with Ms. Beatz, better known as Alicia Keys, contributing to the LOX project. "I was just in the studio the other night with us and Alicia Keys working on the Lox project and get ready y'all," Sheek revealed. "I'm sorry for the delay and the wait, but this joint is gonna be monstrous, man."
