Justin Bieber's Best Real-Life 'Boyfriend' Moments

Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" video, premiering Thursday on "MTV First," is going to have to be pretty over-the-top to compete with Bieber's real-life boyfriend skills.

After all, he has a stringent set of rules when it comes to being the perfect boyfriend to fellow superstar Selena Gomez. During their year-plus relationship, Justin has swept Selena off her feet with some pretty elaborate dates.

In anticipation of Thursday's "Boyfriend" premiere, MTV News is rounding up the five best dates Bieber has taken Selena on. In the words of Bieber, #leggo!

St. Lucia
In January 2011, the couple were snapped on vacation in St. Lucia. The vacation was headline-making simply because it was the first major sighting of the couple being romantic. Although they had been rumored to be dating weeks before, the paparazzi shots confirmed to the world that Jelena were alive and well.

2011 Oscars
In February of that year, the couple were shy no more about their relationship. They graced the Vanity Fair Oscar party that year together, walking the carpet arm-in-arm with big smiles.

2011 VMAs
Later in the year at the VMAs, while Gomez was on hand helping MTV News out as the pre-show co-host, Bieber surprised his lady love with a very public kiss on the cheek and his pet snake, Johnson.

Staples Center
What better way to watch "Titanic" than by renting out the entire Staples Center in Los Angeles? After checking out Demi Lovato's show at the Nokia Theatre in September 2011, he went right across the street with Gomez to watch the flick in private.

Movie Theater
The private Staples screening must have worked, because weeks later, Bieber rented out a theater in Canada to check out the less-romantic "Real Steel."

Lakers Game
Earlier this month, when the young couple hit up a Lakers game at the Staples Center, they were caught kissing on the famous . Can you remember who won the game between the Lakers and San Antonio Spurs? Nope, because the couple's PDA made more headlines.

Not enough Bieber for you? Well, the singer will sit down with MTV News' Sway Calloway on Thursday to premiere his "Boyfriend" music video during "MTV First: Justin Bieber" live at 7:50 p.m. ET on MTV. After the video premieres on air, Bieber will chat with Sway for 30 minutes on MTV.com, opening up about the Director X-directed clip, as well as his June 19 album release, Believe. But that's not all: If you have a burning question for Bieber, you can get in on the fun by commenting below or tweeting @MTVNews with the hashtag #MTVFirst or #AskBieber.

Immediately following the premiere, the "Boyfriend" video will be available on MTV.com, so Beliebers can watch it over and over and over again.

Don't miss the "Boyfriend" video premiere Thursday, May 3, at 7:50 p.m. ET/PT on MTV during "MTV First: Justin Bieber," followed by a live Q&A with Justin himself on MTV.com!

Chloe Moretz In 'Hick' And Controversial Teen Sexuality in Movies

Chloe Moretz Hick

Chloe Moretz stars in 'Hick.'

Last week, the trailer for the movie "Hick" debuted online. In it, the gun-toting Luli (Chloe Grace Moretz) -- all of 13 and oozing early-adolescent sexuality -- runs away from her parents by hitchhiking with a dangerously attractive young truck driver played by Eddie Redmayne.

Underage actors choosing to make edgy movies is nothing new -- from Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields to Dakota Fanning and Natalie Portman. Therefore, I don't think they "owe" it to audiences to do only tween-friendly flicks. If an adolescent star -- after guidance from her representation and (hopefully) parents -- wants to film "controversial" R-rated movies, that's their business.

Instead, audiences should be focusing their attention on the real danger, which is not with the films or the filmmakers or the eager young actresses playing these "controversial" roles -- it's with the marketers who capitalize on their popular stars to convince real-life kids that this is a movie they should check out.

I recently exchanged emails with my editor and friend Betsy Bozdech about "Hick," and she agreed that in and of itself, the movie doesn't pose any neon-flashing danger to the children of today. The danger is if/when a marketing director decides to sell a movie like "Hick" -- however subtly -- as a chance for tweens and teens to see a favorite actor in a role that's decidedly not targeted at them.

"I agree that it's not new -- I kept thinking of 'Lolita' and 'Taxi Driver' -- but I do think it's responsible for filmmakers and studios to market movies at appropriate audiences rather than whoever might be interested," she said.

That's the crucial difference: "Hick" is not thematically appropriate for young teens or tweens, even if they did love Moretz in "Hugo" (or Blake Lively from "Gossip Girl" for that matter). The same goes for Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning in "The Runaways."

Nevertheless, that reasoning didn't stop me from cringing when I heard two middle-school Twihards discuss the fact that Robert Pattinson stars in "Cosmopolis," which debuts at the Cannes Film Festival this May. I wanted to interrupt their conversation and tell them that there was no way that Don De Lillo's novel (adapted by David Cronenberg, no less!) was appropriate for them, even if they were Pattinson's biggest fans. But they weren't my daughters or nieces or friends, just two girls at the Barnes and Noble.

So what can we do? It's not the industry's place to censor filmmakers or force teen actors to make only PG-rated projects. As for marketers, they will do what they're paid to do to help boost a film's opening revenues -- as abhorrent as that is when it comes to certain movies.

For parents, as Betsy points out, the answer is simple: be informed, watch trailers, read reviews, don't say "Yes" to an evening out at the movies unless you know exactly what your teens are going to see, even if that means asking them about the movie afterward.

"In this day and age of all-the-time media and nonstop marketing, I think parents need to play a role in being aware/informed and taking the opportunity to talk about these issues and situations with their teens," Betsy added.

"Ask questions about what makes someone a good role model and why studios might be trying to sell controversial products to kids and teens. It's like making lemonade out of lemons; make teaching moments out of tough situations."

"The Little Mermaid"

The first of many Disney films that have been accused of putting subliminal sex messages into their projects. In "Mermaid," the moment in question happens during a wedding scene, when the priest appears to get a little too excited. However, according to the animators, what viewers were seeing were actually the man's stubby knees bending. The alleged sexual reference prompted a lawsuit against Disney that was eventually dropped.

Nicole Kidman & Colin Firth: “Railway Man” Mates

Posted Tuesday May 1, 2012 11:20 AM GMT

Getting down to business on their new film, Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth were spotted shooting scenes for “The Railway Man” in Perth, Australia today (May 1).

The “Moulin Rouge” babe and the “Love Actually” hunk looked intense as they played their parts at the Perth Train Station while fans and shutterbugs looked on.

During her recent shoot in Scotland, Nicole reportedly flew her handsome husband Keith Urban in to keep her company.

A local shop manager told press, “Nicole and Keith were very unassuming and friendly and nobody recognized them until they were leaving. Our butcher served them some local produce like smoked salmon and freshly squeezed juice and they left unaccompanied in their car.”

Enjoy the pictures of Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth on the set of "The Railway Man" (May 1).

Behind-The-Scenes Of Dark Shadows

Tim Burton's Dark Shadows is opening May 11th and we're getting excited.

It's that remake of the 70's daytime soap opera of the same name that follows around a vampire, Barnabas Collins.

The studio has just released some behind-the-scenes footage from the movie … and its spooktacular!

It's pretty cool to just get a peek at Johnny Deep and Tim Burton working together without them realizing they're on camera.

Check out the video (above) and get a voyeur's view from inside the soundstage.
