Lil Wayne isn't the type of guy who lives life with too many regrets, but the Sandy Hook tragedy has him reflective. Turns out if there was one thing Weezy could take back, it would be his 2007 gun arrest.

"Before I leave, I want to say you mentioned that in 2010, I was locked up for a weapon. If there was anything I could do in my life that I could ever change, it'd be that," the Young Money boss said when he appeared on "Jim Rome on Showtime" this week. "Sandy Hook Elementary, my heart goes out to you."

A four-minute clip of the interview on Showtime Sports' YouTube page finds Wayne mostly talking about sports. But it's clear that sports wasn't the only thing on his mind as he wore a white T-shirt with "Sandy Hook Elementary" written on the left side of his chest.

There were also lighthearted moments during the interview, as when Wayne saluted athletes Shaquille O'Neal and Deion Sanders for their rap efforts. There was some real sports talk as well, as when Weezy criticized the NFL for its restrictive defensive rules.

The multiplatinum rap star and global music icon also opened up about his 2010 prison bid and his relationship with former NFL great Brett Favre, whom Wayne has often called his favorite football player. When Tune was serving his time on New York's Rikers Island, Favre said that he was praying for the MC.

"At the moment it meant more than a lot," Wayne said. "Because at that moment, you're looking for help from anywhere. You're looking for support from anywhere possible, so to hear Brett Favre say he's praying for me every night, man, that put a smile on my face for a long time. And to smile in that place, it's almost impossible."

Do you believe that Lil Wayne's regret is genuine? Let us know in the comments.
