Lawsuit Against Bristol Palin Dismissed on All Counts

Posted Saturday November 3, 2012 11:32 PM GMT

After almost five months of court proceedings, a judge has dismissed the defamation lawsuit against Bristol Palin.

Back in June, Stephen Hanks filed suit against the reality star and A&E, following an on-camera altercation between the two during her series, “Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp.”

As previously reported by GossipCenter, the daughter of Sarah Palin was at Saddle Ranch bar in Hollywood last year when Stephen started a confrontation by shouting, “Your mother's a whore,” prompting Bristol to retaliate by calling him gay.

After the show’s airing, Hanks then tried to argue to that he never signed a waiver to appear on the show, he felt his privacy was invaded when Palin made comments about his sexual orientation, and even claimed that Bristol damaged his reputation after blaming his comments for her move back to Alaska.

However, a judge ruled in favor of the former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, saying that the show is protected by the First Amendment, and any information disclosed in the series was already known, since the counter-argument was that Hanks is openly gay, via his social media sites.

Aside from tossing out the case, Stephen was also ordered to pay Bristol's attorney fees. You can check out the original altercation in the player below.
