Miley Cyrus looks as though she's driving topless as she picks up Liam Hemsworth from the airport

She often steps out to red carpet events wearing fairly revealing outfits.

But it would appear Miley Cyrus went one step further yesterday (Tuesday) when she seemingly headed out in her car totally topless.

The 19-year-old star was playing the part of the doting fiance by picking husband-to-be Liam Hemsworth up from Los Angeles' LAX Airport following a recent trip away.

And it would seem as though she was attempting to attract her beau's attention by flashing a whole lot of flesh in his direction.

Although Miley may well have been wearing a strapless top or dress, the position of her steering wheel gave the illusion that she had stepped out completely topless.

The Hannah Montana actress looked older than her years as she drove up to the airport with a cigarette in hand, and seemed to be concentrating very hard on her driving as she pulled in to meet Liam off his flight .

Opting for a minimal look all round, the former Hannah Montana star wore little make-up and her newly-shorn hair looked product-free.

Later in the day, the loved-up couple were seen driving around Toluca Lake, California, together, but this time Liam took control behind the wheel.

Just two days ago, the couple put an end to rumours their romance was on the rocks by enjoying a night out at the Troubador club in West Hollywood.

The speculation initially began after Miley suggested things weren't going too well in the relationship during a series of tweets.

She wrote on her Twitter page: 'Ever feel like you want just.... something more. not sure what exactly... passion perhaps?

'Sometimes I feel like I love everyone more than they love me. hatttte (sic) that feeling.

'Thought of the day: maybe it's not that they love you less, they just love you the most they are capable of loving.'

At the time she rubbished split rumours, writing: 'No there is not trouble in paradise.... just thoughts.'

Miley has raised eyebrows about her relationship in the past.

While Liam was busy recently filming Paranoia in Philadelphia alongside Amber Heard, Miley was seen wandering around the city looking bored, enjoying cuddles with her one of her many dogs, which led to speculation that she was in fact fed up of following her successful partner around.

Engaged: The young couple sealed their love by getting engaged

Miley and Liam started dating in summer 2009 after meeting on the set of The Last Song.

They've already split twice during their relationship, but sealed their romance with an engagement in June.

Speaking at the MTV VMAs this month, Miley gushed: 'I’m really excited to obviously get married, but I kind of already feel married, and I know we’re forever. I don’t really need the paper right now, so I’m just really trying to work.'
